Ever wonder why there are so many different anti aging skin products? This is because individuals have different skin types and therefore, also have different needs for anti aging skin product. Anti aging skin products can be antioxidants, all-natural or organic products, collagens and retinols which can come in the form of different cleansers, toners or moisturizers. Before you choose your anti aging skin product, determine your skin type first.

Different Skin Types

Oily Skin – is caused by the overproduction of sebum. Too much secretion of sebum can cause pores to clog up and develop pimples and acne problems. Toners and clay masks could help clear and tighten pores.

- Dry Skin – a dry skin is caused by deficiency of sebum on the skin. Sebum prevents the skin from drying up and flaking. To treat dry skin, use hydrating skin products to keep it lubricated and hydrated.

- Combination Skin – a combination skin is the type of skin that produces more sebum in some areas and less in others. Most common examples of areas where there is overproduction of sebum are the forehead, the chin and the nose. To treat combination skin type, apply toner on oily areas and hydrating products on the dry areas.

- Normal Skin – this is the type of skin that produces just the right amount of sebum to keep the skin healthy and hydrated. For you to maintain your normal skin, regular cleansing, toning and moisturizing are recommended.

- Sensitive Skin – this is a skin condition that makes the skin susceptible to even the slightest external irritants such as alcohol, fragrance from cosmetic products. Climate can also have an effect on the skin. To take care of your sensitive skin, regular gentle cleansing and hypoallergenic water-based creams are recommended.

Cleanser:

Cleansers should be ideally pH-balanced. This means that they should not be too harsh on the skin, but at the same time, have enough strength to prevent dirt and bacteria from developing into acnes. Acne causes scars which become more difficult to get rid of as the skin ages. These can also have moisturizers so you need not get a separate anti aging skin moisturizing product. Moisturizers in cleansers can prevent the skin from drying after cleansing.

Toner:

Toners are essentially used to remove remaining particles such as excess oil, make-up, dust and dirt that is left on the skin. Toners can also refresh the skin by tightening the pores as well as improve the texture and clarity of aging skin. Toners recommended for dry skin are those that contain rose water and for oily skin, witch hazels are best.

Moisturizers:

Moisturizers as anti aging skin product give the skin the proper hydration it needs to look young, healthy and glowing. Moisturizers lock in water and essential oils in the skin, delaying its aging.

Combined Anti Aging Solutions:

There are anti aging solutions that have the combined properties of a good cleanser, moisturizer, and toner. These combined anti aging solution products can heal, moisturize, repair and tone the skin all at the same time.
