Living with Cystic Acne

Life with cystic acne can be challenging at times to say the least. This is a harsh form of acne that can be painful physically and emotionally. There are things you can do to help you be able to live with cystic acne.

Fill your diet with super foods so that you have the antioxidants you need for healthy skin that can treat infection and help to fight off acne. Drink enough fluids to keep your face hydrated so that you do not have dryness and more irritation when you are suffering from cystic acne. Protect your skin by always wearing formulas with sunscreen for outdoor outings.

Keep your face free of harsh chemicals and actions when coping with your cystic acne. Wash your face about twice per day. Do not wash so often that you dry out your skin. Look for gentle products when searching for facial cleaners and other facial skin care products. Using the right products can help to reduce the impact of cystic acne.

Take the time to schedule an appointment with your dermatologist. If you do not already have a dermatologist, you will want to meet with your regular doctor for a referral. A dermatologist will help you to determine the root cause or causes of your cystic acne. They will also provide you with information on treatment options to help you deal with your cystic acne.

Do not give in to frustration when treatment methods are not working. Do not feel as if you are alone. Ask your dermatologist about any local support groups for other people suffering with cystic acne. Talking through your feelings and fears is important if you are coping with cystic acne.

Walk with confidence even when you know that your cystic acne is noticeable. Do not think that you should hide your face or stay inside when you are living with cystic acne. This is a skin condition that can be treated and will be treated if you are confident that you can overcome it by taking the necessary steps and never giving in to the cystic acne.
